Luna Keller
Who Is Luna Keller?
Luna Keller is a German indie folk singer-songwriter known for her honest lyricism and emotionally rich storytelling. Born on 1st April 2001, Keller’s upbringing bridged two cultures after her family relocated from Germany to Spain when she was just six months old. Growing up in Tenerife, she was surrounded by music from an early age, with both parents being musicians who sang her to sleep with guitar lullabies. At 13, she picked up her father’s guitar and wrote her first song, setting the foundation for a career built on vulnerability and connection. In 2022, she moved back to Germany, where she now works as a full-time independent artist, touring extensively across Europe.
Early Career & Breakthrough
Keller began recording her first songs in 2017 with her father’s help while still at school. She released several singles and two EPs before her debut album, Prophecies and Silver Linings, arrived in 2022. The album marked her as an artist unafraid to process life’s complexities through song, calling her compositions “friends” that help her navigate emotional terrain. Her breakthrough came through consistent touring and building a dedicated community, including nearly 4,000 followers on Twitch where she regularly livestreams. Keller’s music gained international recognition when tracks from her EPs were selected by US label BHW Music for compilation CDs, and she became a finalist in the Hollywood Songwriter Contest and semifinalist in the Music City Songstar Award.
Sound, Influences & Themes
Keller’s sound blends indie folk, singer-songwriter traditions, and folk-pop, characterised by acoustic guitar work, layered harmonies, and emotionally transparent vocals. Her influences span from contemporary acts like Andrew Bird, Lisa Hannigan, and The Staves to established names like Mumford & Sons and Coldplay. She describes her approach as writing to process life rather than for commercial release, having penned over 500 songs. Themes of mental health, self-acceptance, and human connection recur throughout her work, with her sophomore album exploring depression’s depths before emerging into self-love and renewal.
